Can the 'Page Expiry' Error be Disabled for Public WebCenter Portal Pages? (Doc ID 1378986.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 01, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.4.0 to 11.1.1.9.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

This behavior can be seen with any public WebCenter Portal pages, including custom public Welcome or Login pages.

When a user invokes this type of page and remains idle for some time, they see the standard expiry popup dialog box containing the message:

'Page Expired. The page has expired. Click OK to continue.'

We want to have no expiry time on this public page - users should be allowed to display this page and remain inactive for an unlimited period of time. However, we do not want to change any overall expiry parameter as we still want the authenticated pages to expire after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Is there a way to prevent this message from appearing to the user ?
or
Is there a way to change the appearance of the message to match the style of the WebCenter Portal application?
