Change Password Using WLST Command nmGenBootStartupProps (Doc ID 1381232.1)

Symptoms

We are trying to change the password for the user <USERNAME> which is used to start or stop the servers, in a scripted environment where we may have multiple domains with many servers. To change the password of the user <USERNAME> we want to write a script that is used to change the password across all of these domains. Once the password of the user <USERNAME> is changed, the next step is to change the username and password in boot.properties in all the relevant directories. We can use the WLST command "nmGenBootStartupProps" for the same: see nmGenBootStartupProps. As per the document, nmGenBootStartupProps should generate boot.properties and startup.properties files in the DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/data/nodemanager directory. But it does not generate any files in the DOMAIN_HOME/servers/<server_name>/data/nodemanager directory and the managed server fails to start with the following exception:
