Directory Server 5.2 migration to ODSEE fails when executing command "dsmig migrate-security", with error : "Could Not Write Password In A File.".
Last updated on DECEMBER 12, 2011
Applies to:Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 5.2 SP4
Oracle Directory Server Enterprise Edition - Version: 126.96.36.199.0 to 188.8.131.52.0 [Release: 11gR1 to 11gR1]
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2p4 on Solaris 10 x64 being migrated to ODSEE 11g (184.108.40.206.0)
An existing Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2p4 is migrated to ODSEE 11g. The migration is being performed as the instance owner, "dsuser". The new ODSEE 11g instance is created without any issues, and "dsmig migrate-schema" works fine. However "dsmig migrate-security" fails with "Could not write password in a file" error message.
The "dsmig migrate-security" and all subsequent migration steps work fine if the migration is performed as root.
