Links 'Delete' Permission Is Not Granted In Group Space (Doc ID 1382909.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version: to - Release: 11g to 11g
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Using the 'Create Links' permission allows users to create links to their Topics, Announcements, Events and Documents.
This should also allow the same user to delete these links, but this is not the case.
The delete option is not actually available until the 'Delete Links' permission is explicity selected.

This behaviour does not match that described in the
Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter

Table 34-3 Application Permissions in WebCenter Portal Applications

Create, and Delete - Create and delete links between objects, and manage link permissions.
Delete - Delete a link between two objects.
Create - Create links between objects, and delete links that you create.

-> This specifically states that the 'Create Links' permission should also allow you to delete links you create yourself.

Also, following these steps shows the issue:
- Create a Space
- Go to Settings, enable Advanced Permission
- Click on edit permissions
- Under Links,  The description text for Create Links states -
'Create links between objects, and delete links that you create.'
This is misleading, it should state:
 'Create Links between objects'.
