After Upgrade, Kofax Connector Fails With csCheckinInDateInvalid!syUnableToParseTooLong Error

After upgrading WebCenter Content (formerly Universal Content Management or UCM) and Kofax, the Connector fails to check in documents with the error:
An error has occurred. The stack trace below shows more information.
- New platform (Solaris).
- WebCenter Content system upgraded from 7.5 to 11g.
- Kofax connector upgraded from 7.5.2 to 11g.
- Kofax upgraded to v9 SP3.
