WebCenter Portal Wcprofile Cache is Replicated in 45 minutes by Default (Doc ID 1390460.1)

Last updated on JUNE 18, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.5.0 to 11.1.1.6.6 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When using  WebCenter Spaces/Portal, peopleconnection User attributes are not updated in real time in Webcenter "My profile" or orgchart. There is a cache delay issue.

Caching can be set up into jps config/identity store config. It seams that WCuserprofile use also a dedicated object cache.

This means, a user profile object for a user will get aged out from the cache as long as it has not been referenced (i.e. accessed by anyone such as from any of the UIs in WebCenter such as profile/wall/ connection group space members screen) in the last 45 mins.

WebCenter Spaces has default session timeout of 45 mins. The WebCenter Spaces session timeout is coming from the webcenter.ear application deployed onto the WLS server.

How does WCUserProfile caching can be configured to have attributes replicated ?
