Match Review Decisions Lost in Oracle Enterprise Data Quality (EDQ) After Upgrading to Version 7.2 and Beyond
(Doc ID 1391752.1)
Last updated on JULY 14, 2023
Applies to:
Oracle Enterprise Data Quality - Version 7.2.10 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When upgrading to version 7.2.x and beyond Match Review Decisions appear to have been lost.
Changes
Starting with version 7.2, the way the deduplicate processor deals with <empty string> changed. Prior to version 7.2, an <empty string> is output as an <empty string>. In version 7.2 and beyond, <empty string> is output as a NULL (the most "correct" way to represent a 'null' and how it will be done in all of our subsequent updates). Consequently the decision key that is generated (from the combined data of each row and which Match uses to compare data) between the two versions can be different, causing decisions to be lost.
