Scheduled Task In "Interrupt" State Cannot Be Started Again

We have custom scheduled task with stop() method implemented like this:

public boolean stop() {
  return true;

However, when we hit "Stop" button from scheduled task interface, the task state turns to "Interrupt" and it cannot be started again. Only a server restart solves the problem and the task can be started again.

Is there a way to reset the status of scheduled tasks so that they can be released out of an "Interrupt" state?
