Access To OAM 11g Console Prompts For Login Twice After OAM-OIM Integration

After integrating Oracle Access Manager (OAM) and Oracle Identity Manager (OIM) 188.8.131.52, when the OAM Console (/oamconsole) is accessed users are prompted twice for login. Single sign-on to OAM console application is not successful.
OAM SSO login as '<ADMIN USER>' user is successful from the OAM SSO login page, but the OAM Console application then prompts for login with the native application login page.
The OAM-OIM integration has been implemented using idmConfigTool as per the following documentation:

Steps to reproduce
1. Access http://OAMHostname.domain:AdminServerPort/oamconsole
2. The OAM SSO login page is displayed: submit '<ADMIN USER>' user credentials.
3. The OAM Console login page is displayed.
