'Unable to find valid certification path to requested target' when Testing a J2EE ODI Agent Deployed on Weblogic Server Using Self Signed SSL Certificate Enabled HTTPS (Doc ID 1400663.1)

Symptoms

If an ODI 11g J2EE Agent is deployed on a Weblogic server which uses self-signed SSL certificate (as opposed to the SSL certificates signed by third party trusted Certificate Authority such as Verisign, Thawte, Entrust, Equifax, Valicert etc.), the ODI Studio (client) will generate the following message when testing the connection to the running agent which has HTTPS selected for the protocol in Topology:
