Check Out and Open (COAO) Doesn't Work for Some Users on the Same Machine (Doc ID 1401545.1)

Symptoms

When using the Check Out And Open (COAO) component with WebCenter Content 11g, the COAO process works for some users but doesn't for others, despite logging in on the same machine.

The symptoms during the failure usually consist of Windows prompting for user credentials, as it attempts to create the cached folder structure under the user's personal userdata folders. Despite supplying correct credentials, the check out fails.
