Purpose

The Upgrade Guide Documentation for Fusion Middleware 11gR1 and 11gR2 describes how to Upgrade from 10gR2 using "Upgrade Assistant". However, there are some situations where the Upgrade Assistant can not be used, e.g. when source and destination machines are different. The purpose of this document is to provide assistance in such cases, as described in the following giving the Operating System and hardware example:
