OAAM 10g BP13 Missing Location Table DB Index Causes Slowness With Update (Doc ID 1414026.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2014

Applies to:

Oracle Adaptive Access Manager - Version 10.1.4.5 to 10.1.4.5.0 [Release 10g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Running the new bp13 oaam_location_etl load process and we have uncovered a long running sql statement (slowness).

The query 'update vcrypt_alert set base_ip_addr=:1 where remote_ip_addr>=:2 and remote_ip_addr<=:3' is being executed by the ip_location_etl process. There is no index on the remote_ip_addr column thus forcing the DB to perform full table scans during the update. This is slowing the etl process so that it will take over a month to complete.
