Last updated on JUNE 30, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Forms Recognition - Version 10.1.3.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When configuring a field for the "Format Analysis Engine", incorrect candidates are identified when training the field.  The data on a test image exists in the following values:

"1", "12", "123", "1234", "12345" and "123456"

The Analysis Engine, whether Simple or Regular, could not correctly extract the correct value for and identify incorrect candidates based on the format.

Correct ValueMaskCandidates Found
1 # 1
12 ## 12
123 ### 123, 1234 (incorrect)
1234 #### 1234, 12345 (incorrect)
12345 ##### 12345, 123456 (incorrect)
123456 ###### 123456, 1234567 (incorrect)
1234567 ####### 1234567

When two candidates are identified, the confidence level is not high enough for the field to be valid.
