DPS hangs and is unresponsive.

These error messages appear in the DPS error logs.

BACKEND - WARN - Attempt to bind as cn=directory manager to backend server on connection failed. java.nio.channels.ClosedChannelException

the access logs do not report any strange or odd behavior.
