Why is a Single JMS Server Not Enough For a WebLogic Server Cluster? (Doc ID 1419844.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 01, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 8.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Why does the following scenario result in a WebLogic Server Cluster becoming unstable?

An application is deployed on all the Managed Servers of a six Managed Server cluster and sends its JMS messages to a single JMS server.  An external client application connects to all six Managed Servers and consumes these messages.  The single JMS server is targeted to the default migratable target created in one of the Managed Servers.  A migration policy of "Auto-Migrate Exactly-Once Services" is also configured.
