After Applying Patch 8453300 For Latest JDK 1.4.2 Update, OID 10g Fails To Start (Doc ID 1420294.1)

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 10g on 64bit platform.

Applied <Patch:8453300> for updated JDK 1.4.2_xx, needed to address issues with unauthenticated access (reference JAVA CPU advisory page, ).

After applying patch, OID fails with start.

oidmon.log shows:

Starting OIDLDAP Server,PID=<PID>
2012/02/20:11:59:03 * oidmon_<OID_HOSTNAME>:0 *
Updating Process Table... oidldapd: fatal: <ORACLE_HOME>/jdk/jre/lib/sparc/ wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
2012/02/20:11:59:13 * oidmon_<OID_HOSTNAME>:0 *
sgslupsCheckProcess: sigsend to pid <PID> failed, os error = 3
2012/02/20:11:59:13 * oidmon_<OID_HOSTNAME>:0 *
Retry count exceeded for OIDLDAPD instance 1
Check OIDLDAPD1.log for more details.
After fixing the problem execute the following command
oidctl connect=oiddb host=<OID_HOSTNAME> server=OIDLDAPD inst=1 start

Rolling back <Patch:8453300> allows OID to start and work ok again.


Applied <Patch:8453300>.
