Last updated on NOVEMBER 03, 2016

Applies to:

Sun Schema Runtime Environment (SRE) - Version: 5.0.5 and later   [Release: 5.0 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Schema Runtime Environment (SRE) Jintegra Service starts but then immediately stops.

No error messages are logged on startup when Jintegra is run as a windows service. To debug
this you have to add the "-d" (debug) switch for "stcsvcinstd.exe", for example:

"D:\eGate\Client\bin\stcsvcinstd.exe -d -lnJINTEGRA -runD:\eGate\Client\jre\1.3\bin\java,-Xrs,-classpath,D:\eGate\Client\bin\Java;D:\eGate\Client\bin\Java\jintegra.jar;D:\eGate\Client\bin\Java\stcjintegra.jar,-DJINTEGRA_DCOM_PORT=65000,com.stc.com2java.JIntegra"

This should write the debug information from the start command to a file called '''D:\eGate\Client\logs\JINTEGRA.log" for example.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[23-Feb-2012 16:26:51.263] *** END LOG FOR: JINTEGRA on myhost pid: 5444 ***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The "Started (D:\eGate\Client\jre\1.3\bin\java) on pid (-1)" message is an indication that the 'JINTEGRA' service did not start as normally this will show the following if started correctly;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[23-Feb-2012 10:00:25.915] *** START LOG FOR: JINTEGRA on myhost pid: 7044 ***
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
