DIP 11g Component Suddenly Not Starting / DIP Menu Items / Test Connection Fail With: java.lang.Exception: Unable to locate the DIP Sync profile mbean - :oracle.idm.integration.sync.config:*: (Doc ID 1432803.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 19, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Directory - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Oracle Internet Directory (OID) 11g, i.e., 11.1.1.x.

A multi-node environment had been working fine until a month ago or so.

Suddenly unable to start DIP component, nor able to access DIP menu items such as for administering synchronization profiles.  Sync also stopped working.

DIP status shows as down in Enterprise Manager (EM) Fusion Middleware (FMW) Control console, or DIP status may show as up, but Quartz Scheduler and Mbeans statuses may show as down.

Going to DIP > Administration menu > Properties, DIP shows configured to connect to a load balancer hostname in front of clustered OIDs via SSL port 3131.

If clicking Test Connection, even if changing the host from to either of the OID's physical hostname, the same below error is returned:

The $FMW_HOME/user_projects/domains/IDMDomain/servers/wls_ods1/logs/wls_ods1.log does not have any exceptions or errors related.

The $FMW_HOME/user_projects/domains/IDMDomain/servers/wls_ods1/logs/wls_ods1-diagnostic.log does not get updated at all, in fact the last time it was updated was a month ago or so, back when DIP was working.

Already checked <Note 1232697.1> and verified the domain is set correctly in the weblogic startup script.

Also checked <Note 887653.1> and restarted all the components in the right order.

Also tried rebooting the server, but the same problem persists.
