Why does my basic asset fail to load revision history? (Doc ID 1438924.1)

Symptoms

When using basic assets that have properties named with the following format:  *_type, *_file, *_folder, *_size, we receive the following error loading the revision history for these assets:
"[CS][ERROR] Exception reading file /Shared/Storage/<assettype>/<value of property>
java.lang.Exception: File not found "
