WCI Friendly URLs May Not Work When Not Including The ObjectID In The End (Doc ID 1444943.1)

Last updated on MAY 05, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Interaction - Version 6.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to access a portal object (eg. Community, User, Document, MyPage, Directory) via FriendlyURLs without including the objectID at the end the portal may show the following error "This page does not exist or the current user does not have access to it." An example of this URL is http://portal.<DOMAIN>.com/portal/server.pt/community/<COMMUNITY_NAME>.  When using http://portal.<DOMAIN>.com/portal/server.pt/community/<COMMUNITY_NAME>/<COMMUNITY_ID> the link works fine.

When the ObjectID is left out of the FriendlyURL, the portal should search for that object name, instead of directly processing that specific object.  If more than one objects are found with that exact name, the search results should be displayed for the user to choose one of them.
