DIP Import Fails To Sync AD Entries Into OID 10g. Profile Trace File Messages Include: Parent Entry not Found / Entry Already Exists (Doc ID 1446027.1)

Symptoms

Oracle Internet Directory (OID), i.e. 10g 10.1.4.3.

Directory Integration Platform (DIP) import synchronization from Active Directory (AD) to OID fails for some users with the following message in the profile audit file, for example $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/odi/log/ActiveChgImp.trc:

18137 : Failure : ADD : cn=<LASTNAME>\, <FIRSTNAME>,ou=<OU3>,ou=<OU2>,ou=<OU1>,ou=<COUNTRY>,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com

After editing and setting the profile debug level to 63 and restarting odisrv process for sync, the following is seen in the profile trace file, for example $ORACLE_HOME/ldap/odi/log/ActiveChgImp.trc:
