ServerSaslCreds: <MISSING> in network trace of an OVD bind to an LDAP adapter (Doc ID 1446373.1)

Symptoms


In a network trace of a user binding through OVD to a backend LDAP directory (SunOne), it was found that OVD adds an additional BindResponse: "ServerSaslCreds: <MISSING>". This does not happen when binding directly to SunOne.

RFC 4513 says in chapter 5.2.1.3. Optional Fields:

If a server does not intend to send additional data in the
BindResponse message indicating outcome of the exchange, the server
SHALL omit the serverSaslCreds OCTET STRING (rather than including a
zero-length OCTET STRING).
