UCM Defaults Integer Metadata Fields to 0 (Zero) Even When it is not Configured

Goal
In the below scenario, Integer fields were defaulting to zero, even though it is not configured.
Scenario :
1) Create a Integer field (MyInteger), make sure you didnt default it to any value.
2) Now, check in content. Also, make sure you didnt enter any value in the MyInteger field while checking-in.
3) Once checked-in, click in check-in similar.
Observe that the MyInetger field is defaulted to 0.
