Symptoms

An 11g BPEL "catchAll" faulthandler contains a Java Embedded activity which calls getVariableData("__fault") in order to obtain the details of the fault.

The call to getVariableData("__fault") fails with a ClassCastException at runtime :-

 This did not happen in 10g.
