How To Modify ODI Knowledge Modules To Truncate Column Names To 30 Characters
Last updated on MARCH 10, 2017
Applies to:Oracle Data Integrator - Version 10.1.3.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
In ODI, when duplicating Models from one Technology to another one (such as Oracle) where restrictions apply concerning the length of Datastore colum names such that they may not excced 30 characters, then during runtime of Integration Interfaces it appears that the related Knowledge Modules (KM) are no longer working.
More precisely, they fail with the following message:
subsequently identified as the result of columns name exceeding the maximum size length of the technology involved.
How then can the KMs such as eg.
- IKM Oracle Incremental Update
- LKM SQL to SQL
be modified in order to truncate the column names which are the source of the issue ?
