No Items Found In Oracle GlassFish Server 3.1.1 Admin Console Log Viewer Window (Doc ID 1454632.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to view the Admin Server or any other instance's log files in the Oracle GlassFish Server Admin Console using the Log Viewer, there are no entries shown even though the corresponding server.log files are not empty. The problem is reproducible in GF 3.1.1 Patch 2 and also in later versions when upgraded from  GF 3.1.1 Patch 2  (upgraded to 3.1.1.3 and also to 3.1.2). However, this problem is not seen in a new installation of GF 3.1.2 (not upgrade)
