Last updated on OCTOBER 25, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.6.6 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When setting the parameter: encode-session-id-in-query-params for the session-descriptor to true, then WebCenter pages display as blank in IE 9 with an infinite loop, while it keeps changing the parameter afrloop.
In Firefox there is no problem.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Create a brand new custom WebCenter Portal with all the default settings.
  2. Edit the weblogic.xml.
  3. In Overview mode click on the Session tab and check Encode session ID using query parameters As a result the following code is added to the source:
    <encode-session-id-in-query-params>true</encode-session-id-in-query-params>
  4. Execute the index.html in an IE 9.
Notice that the page displays blank, and the URL keeps changing the afrloop parameter value in the location bar in an infinite loop.
