Documentation Error: Wrong Argument Name In CreateAnalyticsCollectorConnection (Doc ID 1456811.1)

Last updated on JULY 07, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Webcenter version 11.1.1.6.

When configuring Webcenter Portal according to the Enterprise deployment Guide (EDG) in chapter 10.8 the command createAnalyticsCollectorConnection must be run.
In both the EDG and the WLST Reference Guide an argument 'name' is mentioned. However, the command does not understand that argument. The name of the argument must be 'connectionName'.

Also n the WLST Command reference (E13813-11 pdf version) and in the Enterprise Deployment Guide for Webcenter Portal 11.1.1.6 (E12037-06 pdf version) the syntax examples show parameter 'name' instead of 'connectionName'.

This might be confusing for users.

As explained in the http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/web.1111/e13813/custom_webcenter_admin.htm#CACFFIDG documentation, it's  possiible to register multiple Analytics Collector connections for a WebCenter Portal application, only one Analytics Collector connection is used - the default (or active) connection where default=1.
