Set ShowDetailFrame DisplayShadow Property To True In Spaces By Default (Doc ID 1457564.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.5.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

WebCenter configures the default values for task flows added to a page at runtime via the composer. When a user adds a task flow to a page at runtime,
WebCenter (not the user) wraps the task flow with a showDetailFrame.

What is requested here is to configure the defaults for the showDetailFrame that WebCenter adds.  Actually this is not configurable feature.

It's possible to customize  task flow post adding them to the page as explained here Customizing Task Flows.

One workaround option is to modify each system page by hand and add the shadow box true option.

It takes a lot of effort to change the look and feel of standard pages.
It needed to build a custom portal which together with spaces provides an intranet for users to share information and experience.

Since spaces is used together with this portal a skin was developed to make them look similar.  Over the whole portal shadow boxes were used. The out of the box system
pages of WebCenter however by default do not contain these shadow boxes. It takes a lot of effort to change all the pages one by one.
