How To Set Up ODI Physical Agents in Studio/Topology when Configuring ODI J2EE Clustered Agents
(Doc ID 1460643.1)

Applies to:
Oracle Data Integrator - Version 11.1.1.3.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
When wanting to use the WebLogic Server load balancing feature between multiple managed servers hosting ODI J2EE Agents in a high availability (HA) and failover configuration, how many ODI JEE Agents must be defined in ODI Topology and how to perform this administration process ?
The High Availability guide for ODI suggests:
- the creation of a Physical Agent entry for the ODI JEE defined on Node1 - the first WebLogic managed server
- the generation of a template from that Agent entry.
- the redefinition of the Agent to use the load balancing addresses.
However the documentation does not mention any creation of a second (or more) ODI JEE Agents for Node2 (or other managed servers).
Also, what host entry should we set in the ODI JEE Agents definition in the Topology > Physical Architecture to have them deployed correctly on these multiple manager server nodes?
