Deployment Fails on 10.3.5 WLS (Doc ID 1463760.1)

Symptoms

After updating WLS from 10.3.0 to 10.3.5 the deployment of an application fails with
"weblogic.ejb.container.compliance.ComplianceException: In EJB SvcMyDummy, the return type for method method() in the local interface does not match the return type in the bean class."

Changes

In WLS 10.3.0, 10.3.1, and 10.3.2 the covariant return type is supported. It seems to be a regression in WLS 10.3.3 to WLS 12.1.1.
