Creating a Domain via WLST createDomain() if User Other Than Weblogic - Attribute "Password" is not setfor user "weblogic" (Doc ID 1467156.1)

When creating domain using the provided template with WLST, if the specified user is not "weblogic", a confusing exception is thrown: Attribute "Password" is not setfor user "weblogic"


The following would be the scenario where you should expect to get this problem:


1. Attempt to create the domain with a user different from 'weblogic'

wls:/offline> createDomain('WL_HOME/common/templates/domains/wls.jar','WL_HOME/domains/mytest','NONWeblogicname','SomePassword')

 You will immediately see this: 

Error: set() failed. Do dumpStack() to see details.
Error: writeDomain() failed. Do dumpStack() to see details.

 2. Run dumpStack() to see what the problem is:


wls:/offline> dumpStack() Attribute "Password" is not set
for user "weblogic" .....

3. If running using 'weblogic' user, domain gets successfully ccreated:

wls:/offline> createDomain('WL_HOME/domains/wls.jar','WL_HOME/domains/mytest','weblogic','SomeOtherPassword')
