Clock Sync issues between ZFS Storage Appliance Nodes and Compute Nodes in Exalogic Rack Machine (Doc ID 1469247.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 08, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud Software - Version and later
Linux x86-64

The time stamps in the Compute Nodes are different from the ZFS Storage Appliance Nodes in an Exalogic Rack Machine.

When the time stamps are not in sync clock skew error might occur.

For example:

When a customer is trying to build a custom C/C++ application where the source code is located and then installed in the "/common" directory.  This directory is mounted via NFSv4 from the ZFS Appliance.  When trying to compile the code, a warning regarding clock skew will be displayed from either doing a "make" or "compile" of the application.
