Capture Index Freezes when Attempting to Open a Batch in Oracle 11g Database (Doc ID 1470774.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to open a batch on a specific Index workstation, the Capture application hangs and no error is returned. These same batches can be opened from different Capture workstations without problem. The Index station is running XP, but was originally running Windows 7.  The machine was re-imaged for XP in an attempt to resolve this problem unsuccessfully as the issue still occurs. The Oracle Provider for OLE DB has been configured as the connection to an Oracle 11g database within the Batch Setup screen.

When they configure RDBMS tracing in the SQLNet.ora on the Oracle 11g RDBMS Server, the problem no longer occurs:

TRACE_LEVEL_SERVER=16
TRACE_DIRECTORY_SERVER=
TRACE_TIMESTAMP_SERVER = ON
