Oracle Waveset / Exception While Starting The Server: "Caused By: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.waveset.task.Monitor" (Doc ID 1473457.1)

The goal of this knowledge article is to explain an uncommon exception that may be seen when trying to start an Oracle Waveset instance. In this case the Oracle Waveset instance is running in a Weblogic container as part of a 4-node cluster.

Although this isn't common or likely, perhaps the information below will aid in the event of another customer running into the same issue in the future. Regardless, it will still show the logic used to determine the root cause and subsequent solution.

As stated above, the customer in question reported that one of his 4 Oracle Waveset instances could not be started in the cluster. The other 3 instances weren't experiencing any difficulties.
