Symptoms
When running GlassFish 2.1.1 p17-p19, when a client such as a browser sends HTTP requests over a SSL channel using keep alive feature, its possible for an error to occur that breaks the SSL communication. This error could equally occur early on in creating an initial SSL connection to the GlassFish Server, either after a couple of requests or could potentially occur later even after a high number successfully handled requests/responses.
The following error may be seen in Glassfish log file:
