'ODI-17517: Error During Task Interpretation' Received when Starting ODI 11g Journal on Table with Infrequently Used Character in a Column Name (Doc ID 1475505.1)

Symptoms

An error message is signaled in ODI 11.1.1.6.0 when attempting to start the journal of a table with a column name having an infrequently used character (for example, the # character) using JKM Oracle 11g Consistent (Streams).
  
The legacy 10g workaround consisting in setting "" to the Object delimiter in the Language tab of the Oracle Technology in Topology > Physical Architecture no longer resolves the issue.

Indeed a table containing a column name such as  COL#1 cannot be journalized and at journalization launch time the Check Tables step signals the following :
