Ldapdelete Fails With "ldap_delete: Error In DN Normalization." Error When Trying To Delete An Entry (Doc ID 1476450.1)

Symptoms

Trying to delete an existing entry via ldapdelete tool, it fails with following error:

This situation occurs when the OID Database (OID DB) is based on two (or more) DB instances which are part of a Database Replication setup, and the replication status is Quiesced.

The purpose of this article is to explain the reasons why ldapdelete tool returns this error, and what can be done to avoid it.
