extract will not start after upgrade to when extract is not installed on the DB Server

Your DB Server and OGG are not on the same server and prior release of OGG has run without problem, but 

After an upgrade to OGG   you are unable to start OGG or use GGSCI> dblogin   to connect to the DB.


Here are some messages you may see in your Extract report file when you attempt to start OGG Extract

012-07-21 14:23:17  ERROR   OGG-00664  OCI Error beginning session (status = 1034-ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 Error: 2: No such file or directory).

2012-07-21 14:23:17  ERROR   OGG-01668  PROCESS ABENDING.

Or you may see this error in your Extract

2012-07-21 11:22:42  ERROR   OGG-00664  OCI Error during OCIServerAttach (status = 12545-Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12545).

2012-07-21 11:22:42  ERROR   OGG-01668  PROCESS ABENDING.

You will see GGSCI fail to connect to the DB server that is REMOTE

GGSCI  3> dblogin userid gg@remoteDB
ERROR: Failed to open data source for user GG.



 Upgrading to Or Installing OGG will cause this issue to occur if your DB Server and your Goldengate software are not on the same server
