NFSv4 mount directories hang on Exalogic Machine

The hang occurs while the Exalogic Machine (Compute Nodes, and ZFS Storage appliance Nodes ) is set to use NFS version 4 (NFSv4) of the protocol. The client Compute nodes have NFS mounts configured and applications are running on them.
The hang is experienced when an application running in the Compute Node fails to either run, be deployed, change a configuration etc., all while the running task is trying to access a NFS mounted directory.
Trying to deploy a WebLogic application to a WebLogic managed server, while this task is done, access to a mounted directory is denied. To verify that the NFS mounts for the compute node are hanging, the user can perform either of the following Linux commands "ls -l", "ll", or "sync" against the domain mounted directories. If the Linux command hangs, this is a symptom of the NFS hang problem. After the hang the putty or ssh session will need to be aborted.
