Can you use WebLogic Portal (WLP) Entitlement Roles with the rolesAllowed Property in a PageFlowController? (Doc ID 1481731.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 28, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Portal - Version 9.2.0 to 10.3.7 [Release Weblogic Platform to AS10gR3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Trying to use the rolesAllowed property of the @Jpf.Forward annotation (@Jpf.Action of an action method in a Java Pageflow (JPF) Controller) to restrict access on Pageflow actions based on the user's role.  This restriction works fine when the role is defined as a Global Scoped Role through the WebLogic Server Administration Console but it fails when the same role is defined as an enterprise-application or web-application scoped Visitor Entitlement role through the WebLogic Portal (WLP) Administration Console.

Does the rolesAllowed property take into account enterprise-application or web-application scoped roles defined through the Portal Administration Console?  In other words, can you use WLP Entitlement Roles with the rolesAllowed Property in a PageFlowController?
