Unable To Catch A Custom Exception If The Annotation @ApplicationException(rollback=true) Is Used (Doc ID 1482510.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 30, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Suite - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When implementing an EJB which throw an custom exception, and this exception has the annotation "@ApplicationException (rollback = true)" (thereby initiating the rollback process when this error occurs).  It is not possible to catch the custom exception within a BPEL composite calling EJB module.

When "@ApplicationException (rollback = false)" it works with no problem (a custom exception gets caught successfully).

In order to caught the exception when using the mentioned annotation set to false, <Patch:13786404> is needed.
