EXTRANEOUS XSI:Type ATTR For Simple Types At Run-Time During Copy Processing (Doc ID 1483083.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle SOA Platform - Version 11.1.1.6.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After migrating from SOA 11.1.1.3 (PS2) to SOA 11.1.1.6 (PS5), when using an assign activity with constant values, like 'A', or functions, like ora:getComponentInstanceId() or xp20:current-dateTime(), to set Simple Type variables in the BPEL process, the attribute "xsi:type" is being added to the variable element. All assigns done after that with the same Simple Type variables as "from" copy the "xsi:type" attribute to the "to" variable. The same doesn't happen if the variable being set is an Element variable instead of Simple Type.

This is a behavior change was found in the PS5 version. In PS2 the attribute is not added.
