SAML2 Cookie Is Maintained After Invalidating Sessions (Doc ID 1484767.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 05, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Weblogic Server - Version 10.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using an application that is configured to use SAML 2 and WebLogic as a Service Provider.

The web-session is invalidated by code. However, any new attempt to log-in will still succeed without WebLogic actually going to the Identity Provider (IdP).

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR

After invalidating a session on an application that uses SAML2, the session is not properly invalidated and if a new log-in attempt is made, the application does not go to the IdP

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

The whole session should be invalidated and if a new log-in attempt is made, WebLogic should go to the IdP to validate the user.
