Oracle Waveset Getting 'BAD_NAME' Error From Active Directory During Reconciliation (Doc ID 1487463.1)

Goal

Reconciliation with an Active Directory resource breaks with a 'BAD_NAME' error:

Error while reconciling accountId cn=USER,TEST,ou=example,dc=oracle,dc=com on resource AD:
com.waveset.util.WavesetException: Error opening object 'LDAP://cn=USER,TEST,ou=example,dc=oracle,dc=com': ADsOpenObject(): 0X80072032: , 0000208F: NameErr: DSID-031001F7, problem 2006 (BAD_NAME), data 8350, best match of: 'cn=USER,TEST,ou=example,dc=oracle,dc=com' , An invalid dn syntax has been specified.
