Symptoms
When a JAX-WS web service returns a character in the 0x10000 to 0x10FFFF range (an illegal xml character), the SOAP response generated by the Weblogic JAX-WS runtime is truncated and invalid.
Meanwhile, while expecting a SOAP fault or log message, an invalid character was sent.
