In WebCenter Portal Spaces, end users may see the date format as MM/DD/YYYY when English language is selected. As this format starts with the month of the year, it is confusing for the end users as they expect date values to start with the day of the month first, e.g. 04/05/2012 can be read as 4th of May in some country whilst WebCenter Portal will handle it as 5th of April, 2012. To avoid confusion it may be necessary to change the default date format for the space to dd/mm/yyyy. The screen shot below illustrates the issue.
