Is the combination of GlassFish v2 application servers and the 64-bit GlassFish v3 loadbalancer plugin a supported configuration? (Doc ID 1496947.1)

Information in this document applies to any platform.
In some cases there might be two different versions of GlassFish servers used, ie: v2 and v3. Is there any way to use the latest 64 bit Load Balancer v3 plugin to server both versions of GlassFish Servers?

Goal

Scenario:

Most applications are deployed via Glassfish v2, and front-ended by iPlanet Web Servers running in 32-bit mode with the GlassFish loadbalancer plugin.

As new applications are deployed under Glassfish v3, the Glassfish loadbalancer plugin for this version of GlassFish requires iPlanet 7.0 Web Servers running in 64-bit mode.

Question: Is the combination of Glassfish v2 application servers and the 64 bit Glassfish v3 loadbalancer plugin a supported configuration?
