A Coherence cluster has been configured to use SSL for its internal communication, and the cluster nodes when they start and try to communicate to the senior member, may fail to join the cluster.
How to configure a Coherence cluster to use SSL for its cluster communication is covered in this document link: "Defining a SSL Socket Provider"
The senior node, essentially the first member of the cluster to be started, starts up without issue. However, when other members of the cluster are started, they report an error similar to the following and fail to join:
- Coherence 220.127.116.11 (or lower) is configured to support SSL on already using IBM JDK 1.6.0 SR10, or
- Coherence 18.104.22.168 (or lower) is already using SSL but we upgraded to IBM JDK 1.6.0 SR10
